FUNADEHNATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF HONDURAS (FUNADEH)

BACKGROUND
We are a private non-profit institution, founded in 1983 by a group of San Pedro Sula community leaders concerned with the country’s economic and social development. We participate in and promote the country’s development by carrying out training and educational courses and seminars which significantly contribute to improve the individual’s and their organization’s professional and competitive effectiveness. We also promote social projects in poor communities with particular emphasis in education.

Additionally, through our own financing institution, Finsol, we provide loans principally to small and very small businesses that are normally not eligible for bank financing.
In 2003 Funadeh was certified in ISO 9001:2000 by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and has successfully maintained the certification since then by complying with very high quality performance standards. In application of these standards each one of the services we provide our clients is evaluated and an event performance under 92% is considered a non compliance requiring remedial action.

Funadeh’s main office is in San Pedro Sula; there is a regional office in Tegucigalpa and a project office in Chamelecón. The organization is manned by 40 full time employees; outside consultants and instructors are contracted as required by the services to our clients.
